Rio Pusteria Close Association - Onlus

The Rio Pusteria Close Association, founded in 1997, with its headquarters in Rio Pusteria, which was presided over by Christoph Prugger from 1998 to 2005, has entirely restored the Rio Pusteria Close ruins, which were once a Hapsburg customs fortification, thanks to a fruitful collaboration with the Cultural Patrimony Department of the Bolzano Autonomous Provincial Administration, the Cassa di Risparmio di Bolzano Foundation and the Municipality of Rio Pusteria. The measures for restoration sustained by the cited institutions were implemented in close collaboration and with the expert assistance of architects Klaus Mathieu (Cultural Patrimony) and Josef Rieder (Rio Pusteria). Upon conclusion of the voluntary works, eleven founding members of the Pusterese Association dedicated a bell to “their” close, produced by the foundry Grassmayer of Innsbruck, which will be rung on special occasions. The activity of the Association is supported by the Municipality of Rio Pusteria, which is the owner of the close.
